Mission Statement

“The Alliance for Justice Network of the Medical Mission Sisters is committed to furthering their healing mission by strengthening the work of justice throughout the world.  It attempts to do this by:

Advocacy: Within the parameters of its status as a non-profit corporation, the MMS engage in advocacy with emphasis on national issues that connect with its local ministries.  As world citizens, the MMS also emphasize advocacy for international and world issues, especially when these may be caused by actions of the the U.S. government or organizations based in the U.S.

Information:  All North American Sector members, as well as MMS of other Sectors who participate in the Alliance for Justice Network, are provided with information and analyses that can influence decision-making about the way we live and actions we take, assist in determining Sector policy, or make possible public statements in the name of the MMS by elected leadership.

Communication: Receiving and sharing information about current justice issues, strategies that support social justice and alerting MMS members about urgent actions to be taken are a major activity of the Alliance.”
